Nella is a first-generation American of Indonesian descent born and raised in New York City. She understands firsthand how the intersectionality of identities can benefit or challenge an individual. She will collaborate with you to understand the world through your unique lens. She provides a safe outlet to freely express yourself in ways that may ordinarily be discouraged. Nella takes an integrative approach with a foundation in Feminist and Relational Cultural therapy. She utilizes techniques from Feminist, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness approaches. She specializes in working with children of immigrants, cultural identity issues, intergenerational trauma, systemic injustices, and workplace trauma.
Nella received her MSed in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University Graduate School of Education and her BA in Political Science from SUNY Albany. She completed her graduate internship at LaGuardia Community College in the College Discovery program, where she worked with students of various ages and diverse backgrounds. She spent over ten years in public service and working with local communities in Queens and across New York State.
